Awkwafina
Awkwafina began as a American performer and rapper, releasing sly tracks that tackled questions of race and sexual identity with a comedic twist. Prior to her move to Hollywood the singer was able to make a few songs. Nora Lum was born to Chinese-Korean immigrants in Forest Hills Queens. Her first experience with music came via the trumpet. Jazz, classical and hip-hop studies began when she was in her teens. In her studies, she studied journalism as well as women's studies, and was learning Mandarin in Beijing during a brief time. The focus on music until she completed her degree. In 2012, My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet sensation and featured in her debut album Yellow Ranger. It also contained songs that were viral such as body positive Queef or the winking city tour the city of New York Bitche$. The single that debuted was directly connected to Awkwafinas NYC, her guide to travel in 2015. Following a career that was successful as a musician, she decided to take on the role of an actor. Along with early series like Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films such as Neighbors as well as Storks. In the year 2018, she was offered an array of noteworthy performances, which included Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released by In Fina We Trust in June of the year.
